A school age book gifting initiative, created by the nationally renowned The 15 White Coats and Black Worldschoolers Mobile Bookstore to provide access to high quality Black literature through book boxes placed inside of youth centered organizations.

We understand that children with strong reading skills are more likely to graduate from high school and pursue higher education. But we also know that representation matters. That’s why the Resilient Readers Book Club is dedicated to equipping classrooms with themed book boxes filled with culturally relevant books that reflect the diverse experiences and backgrounds of students.

Resilient Readers Book Club
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to discover the joy of reading and the doors it opens to a brighter future. Our mission is to cultivate a love of reading in students, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds, by providing them with access to culturally relevant books and inspiring storytelling experiences. By fostering a love for reading, we aim to build a strong foundation for academic success and create a pipeline into medicine and STEM fields.

Virtual Readers Club
At Resilient Readers Book Club, we also recognize the transformative power of storytelling. Through our Virtual Readers Club, culturally representative volunteers read aloud, share their stories, and engage with students in the joy of storytelling. This initiative creates an interactive and enriching environment where children can connect with readers who look like them, fostering a sense of belonging and possibility.

Volunteer as a Culturally Representative Reader
Share your love of reading by becoming a virtual reader. Engage with students, inspire them with stories that reflect their own experiences, and foster a lifelong love of books.
To-date, The Resilient Readers Book Club has served youth in Louisiana and Indiana, and we are looking to expand our reach nationally. As a sponsor, you can choose the location of your book box OR we can place the box in a location from our database that has expressed a need. The cost per book box is $399.00 for one class.
